STAYING SAFE ON THE MOVE

Do you want to be safe while on the move? No matter what mode of transportation you use, be it driving, public transportation, walking or riding a bike, you should be safe while doing it.

In recognition of National Falls Prevention Week, September 23 –29, the Department on Aging is offering an afternoon of FREE screenings and consultations to help you prevent and reduce falls and accidents.

  • Balance Screenings (by appointment)
  • CarFit – Check how well your personal vehicle “fits” you (bring your personal vehicle)
  • Footwear Examinations
  • Walker & Cane Fitting Adjustments
  • Consultations (by appointment)

Screenings provided by: UNC University Physical Therapy, UNC Occupational Therapy, UNC Health Care Trauma Program, EMS, the Orange County Department on Aging and other community partners.
