Home is the Key
In 2019, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County celebrates 35 years of community impact by launching Home is the Key. This exciting new panel series will explore the broad implications of stable housing by focusing on three key interrelated outcomes: health, eductaion and economic mobility. The Home is the Key series will serve to educate community members about the benefits of affordable housing in Orange County by emphasizing the related social determinants that allow individuals and communities to thrive.
Home is the Key kicked off on September 4th with an intimate discussion on housing and health from our panelists. Continuing in its success, we at Habitat for Humanity of Orange County are excited to invite you all to the third panel on housing and education. Light refreshments will be provided.
Housing + Economic Mobility Panel
Research shows that the home and neighborhood where one lives can either expand or block opportunities for upward mobility. When more than half of each paycheck is spent on housing, it is difficult to save money, pursue education or invest in your family’s future. Home is the key to addressing socioeconomic and racial wealth disparities and providing a path to upward mobility.
