Panel: Death with Dignity

March 17, 2016, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

The Orange County Department on Aging and UNC’s Partnerships in Aging Program, invite the public to attend the “Death with Dignity Discussion Panel,” on Thursday, March 17.

Death with Dignity (also called Physician Assisted Suicide): what is it, and where should North Carolina be headed? Project EngAGE, a program of The Orange County Department on Aging, in collaboration with UNC’s Partnerships in Aging Program, proudly presents a thoughtful discussion around what it means to “die with dignity,” and the possibility of legalizing “Physician Assisted Suicide” or “Death with Dignity” laws in North Carolina.

The event will kickoff with a keynote address by Barbara Mancini, of Compassion & Choices, and featured on “60 Minutes,” followed by panelist presentations representing many perspectives, including members of the North Carolina Legislature, and religious, legal, medical, and ethics scholars and leaders. Please visit www.orangecountync.gov/departments/aging to learn more. Audience discussion will follow.

Please join us by registering for this free event by March 15, at www.orangecountync.gov/departments/aging, or by calling the Seymour Center, at (919) 968-2070.
