Aging in Community Expo: Housing Innovations in Our Midst

Ever heard of multi-unit housing with services (MAHS) for seniors? Curious about “smart” technologies that can help you age in your current home? Worried about how you will maintain your home and yard?
All of these questions – and many more! – will be addressed at our second Aging in Community Expo hosted by the Orange County Department on Aging on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Aging service providers, developers, and entrepreneurs will gather at the Seymour Center in Chapel Hill to share their housing ideas with community members. There will be two ways to get more information about innovative housing options:

Informational booths : There will be booths set up throughout the Seymour Center as a way for you to quickly learn more about new ideas related to senior housing.

Presentations: Individuals and organizations will be offering 30 minute presentations, with time left for discussion, as a way for you to get detailed information about interesting topics related to senior housing. You can expect to hear presentations about aging in place supports, costs and availability of various housing models, what Orange County is doing to develop affordable senior housing, and so much more!

This is a great opportunity for you and other community members to get together to learn more about the many senior-friendly housing options that currently exist or are bubbling up in Orange County. Tell your friends!
